Half-day program

This tour is very special because we leave the center of Budapest and also ride in the suburbs, past the old prefabricated buildings and industrial plants. This unique bike-route puts you right back in the 70's, where those days of the Communist government built "socialist" model cities. We drive through housing estates (on bike paths of course), old socialist monuments and public buildings of the era and will learn how the average citizen in Budapest lived. Beside these features Budapest has other beautiful sites – on this trip we go along and cross the "blue" Danube and reach the green recreational area the so called "Romai Part" or Roman beach.The name comes from Roman times when it was a place for recreation and fun. There used to relax the common Romans and we will have a rest on this place too, enjoying a beer and authentic Hungarian dishes such as the famous "Kolbász" (Hungarian giant sausage).

The keyword staying "Romans", - we will visit ancient excavations at AQUINCUM (a Roman part of the city as well) and we are passing through a different era again with a leap in time straight into the Baroque period to one of the most beautiful baroque squares, the main square of Óbuda!

The ambiance is created by the prestigious restaurants too. One of them called Postakocsi – Stage-coach. Its name originates from the eighteenth century when the coaches leaved here for Vienna. The restaurant was the scene of great revelries and in the basement the owner still keeps an old Stage-coach which reminds us of those good old days.
