The famous historic wine regions in Eger and its surroundings offer excellent red and white wines, which are stored and served in several hundred year-old wine cellars. The settlement of Szilvásvárad lies at the entrance to the beautiful Szalajka Valley, 30 km from Eger at the Western edge of the Bükk Mountains. A veil-like waterfall, an outdoor museum, and the protected primeval forest as well as a prehistoric cave located in Telkibánya can be visited by hikers.

Meeting at the Esterhazy square, right next to the basilica, near the St. Ladislaus statue. The temperature throughout the year is a constant 12 degrees Celsius, so warm clothing is highly recommended. The tour lasts about 45 minutes.
